About me

I am an Agribusiness and Agricultural Resources Management specialist. I see myself as a pro poor development worker whose main interests are the smallholder farmers. I am passionate about agriculture, agribusiness and smallholder farmers in Africa. Skills and experience mobilization and organizational,developing sustainable commodity value chains, building value chain partnerships, facilitating linkages and creating contracts for smallholder farmers. The technical skills include managing basic agricultural resources such as soil and water, conservation agriculture, climate change and climate smart agriculture among others.

I have helped to set up of several community based organizations among the urban poor and rural small scale farmers primarily for empowerment through agriculture, agribusiness, financial services and entrepreneurship. I was a key founder of EMEDEN Kenya, a nonprofit empowerment and development farmers organization focusing on improving livelihoods of smallholder households.

I am trained on how to manage agricultural and natural resources, set up and manage agribusinesses, manage micro credit schemes, train entrepreneurs and set up entrepreneurship development programs. I hold a Bachelor of Agribusiness Management from Egerton University and M Ed. Entrepreneurship Development from Urbana Champaign, USA; and is finalising for Msc. Agricultural Resources Management from the University of Nairobi. I am a fellow in the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD2009).
